Was listening to The Format, a band I do rather enjoy and was thinking ‘The lead singer from Fun. sounds awful like this guy.’ Hoped onto Wikipedia, same lead singer. The lead signer from The Format, Nate Ruess, left the band and joined Fun. in 2008 after The Format split up.

I knew there was a reason I liked Fun. ;) Ruess’ voice is just stunning!

Nate Reuss has SUCH a unique voice. Like I absolutely LOVE the format. And when I heard Walking the Dog, I was like… This voice sounds familiar. The Format? The Maine? It was the band that sang Oceans and the “I love love. I love being in love. I don’t care what it does to me” song…

OH MY GOSH HE IS.

So this was the first time this has happened to me. Actually knowing who was singing the song just because he sounded like another band. And I actually thought The Format were still together because.. well. I don’t keep up with my bands (except for one!) I just assume everyone’s still together.

So Nate, you have a very unique voice. I could pinpoint you from one of the first songs I’ve ever heard from Fun. And now that I know it, I can’t not hear The Format. Fun will always and forever be the new Format because… I liked the Format.

Okay. I’m going to start listening to my Format songs now :)

Oh my gosh. So today was the day that I found out that the lead singer from Fun. is the same guy as the lead from The Format!
Whenever I listen to Fun, I’m all this guy really sounds like The Format. Is it him? Eh, I’ll look it up later. But today, I was listening to Walking the Dog and I was just looking at the tags and I saw The Format as one of the tags and I’m all NO WAY. I TOTALLY CALLED IT. Freakin LOVE The Format. Because of that, Fun. just got way cooler :)
Dude. I remember away back in like middle school, my sister gave me her Format shirt. I will never forget my first band shirt :)
